Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier
The Blueair 501 HEPA
Air Purifier is a nice air purifier that when
set on low is virtually silent. While I prefer
the IQAir HealthPro Plus HEPA filter, the Blueair
501 HEPA Air Purifier does a good job. If you
need a high quality air purifier, but need one
that is silent the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier
is for you.
Guide Review - Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier
Specifications of the Blueair 501 HEPA
Air Purifier
The Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier is rated for
rooms up to 620 square feet. Running on low speed
the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier is almost silent
with only 35 dB(A) of sound output. However, the
Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier still moves a decent
amount of air on low speed with 88 cfm of movement.
With four speeds you have options to meet your
needs of air purification and sound output. Running
on high, the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier moves
a whopping 450 cfm of air with a noise output
of 71 dB(A). Power consumption for the Blueair
501 HEPA Air Purifier ranges from 35 to 90 watts.
The low power consumption of the Blueair 501 HEPA
Air Purifier allows you to remove asthma triggers
from the air in your home, with the power consumption
of a light bulb.
Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier in Use
In use the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier does
a good job. I used it in my son's room in place
of the beloved IQAir HealthPro Plus. While I was
using the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier I noticed
that my son had more asthma symptoms than he did
with the IQAir unit running in his room. However,
this is not necessarily due to the Blueair 501
HEPA Air Purifier not filtering as much triggers
as the IQAir purifier.
Overall, the Blueair 501 HEPA Air Purifier is
a nice machine, but if you have a slightly larger
budget, go for the IQAir HealthPro Plus instead.
